Welcome to Summer in Wild Wonderful West Virginia.
WOW! What a difference a year makes. The staff at Harpers Ferry Meadows Farms is excited to see some foot traffic in the nursery again! We appreciate everybody’s efforts in keeping the staff and our patrons safe.
We had a great spring and the plants that customers purchased will need to be tended to during the hot weather. Remember to keep your plants fed and watered. We have a wide variety of fertilizers to help! Now is the time to spray for poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac! We carry broadleaf herbicides as well as products to keep your garden beds weed-free!
Now is also the time to spray for powdery mildew on your vegetable garden plants and susceptible perennials. As ole Ben Franklin said, “A pound of prevention is worth an ounce of cure!” Getting ahead of the fungus and mildew that is common in this hot humid climate is a lot easier on the plants (and you!) than waiting until symptoms appear. Our staff will assist you in the best methods to alleviate any issues.
Our greenhouse is full of colorful annuals which are perfect for sprucing up your flower beds and pots! Summer perennials are blooming, and we have a wide selection for the sun and shade! Watch for our summer specials on our web page or in your inbox!
This area is full of fun places to visit, from Historic Harpers Ferry and close by Charles Town there are fun things to do on your way to and from the nursery! Taking a slow tube ride down the river or visiting Charles Town Races and Slots. Lots of wineries in the area offer tastings and beautiful countryside.
