Happenings

Fall for the Fall at Great Falls!

At the time of this writing, early August, the autumn seems far away. The temperatures are still Hot, Hot, Hot, and thoughts of cooler weather seem to be just a whisper on the slight breeze. However, we are looking ahead towards this fall season and would like to share some of the things one could look forward too when visiting us for this upcoming fall season.

Inside our Garden Center, we currently have a great selection of houseplants. As we head into the fall we are striving to keep our houseplant selection stocked. Ferns, Ficus, cactus, and succulents are just some of the plant groups one can shop from on their way to finding a new indoor friend. We also stock many different types of broadleaf houseplants that can be of great assistance towards cleaner indoor air quality.

As we get closer to September, our inside greenhouse will also start to see fresh shipments of fall annuals, predominately the chrysanthemum! The “mum”, as it is commonly referred too, alongside cabbage and kale, and pansies have become one of the many signals that the seasons are about to turn cooler. This fall we will also see a shipment of seeds! Cold weather vegetables, herbs, and a small assortment of perennial seeds should be available just in time to start the transition from the summer veggie patch.

Unfortunately, for this fall season, we will not be able to host our Fall Festival. We will be setting up a pumpkin patch for the various fall produce and products, that we normally offer. However, for safety reasons, we did not wish to encourage an overabundance of “touch surfaces” for children. Therefore, there will be no moon bounce, scary school bus, or climbing tube. Even with this somewhat disappointing news, we still hope to have you drop on by the nursery so that you too can fall for fall!
