Pink Lemonade Blueberry (Vaccinium ‘Pink Lemonade’)
The first ever of its kind! This awesome new Pink Lemonade Blueberry bush actually yields pink berries that are ripe, juicy and delicious!
This blueberry bush not only produces delicious fruit, it’s an attractive ornamental plant that can be used as an accent or a hedge. In the spring the ‘Pink Lemonade’ Blueberry will pop its glossy green leaves and soon after will be followed by showy fragrant white flowers. By early summer your ‘Pink Lemonade’ Blueberry will bear its bright pink blueberries and by August these berries will turn a deep crimson color and that’s when you know they’re ready for harvest! You’ll have bushels of plump, delicious blueberries to share with your friends and neighbors. As if that’s not enough, when the cools nights of autumn roll in their foliage starts its fall color transformation turning a golden yellow and continuing to darken into a reddish orange.
The ‘Pink Lemonade’ Blueberry shrub is hardy to zone 5 (we’re zone 7 and 6B in the coldest northern suburbs), so a little mulch is all it takes to give it a comfortable winter rest. It will mature about 4-5 feet tall and will do best in full sun to partial shade locations. It prefers acidic, well-drained soil. It will also perform great as a patio tree left in a container.
