Dark green, semi-woody, herbaceous perennial. Makes an attractive border. Easy to grow with a strong, spicy flavor. Although it has a strong flavor when fresh, it does not hold up well to prolonged stewing.

A great mixing herb- goes well with oreganos, thymes, and basils. Can be added to meat, poultry, fish, stuffing, chicken salad, beans, and marinades. Sometimes acts as a salt replacement in herb blends.
