Short-stemmed succulent. Leaves are thick and fleshy, green to gray-green, with white flecks on the upper and lower surfaces. The margin of the leaf is serrated.

Use the gel from leaves as a soothing skin remedy- put on cuts, burns, scrapes, and stings. For bad sunburns, cut aloe leaves lengthwise and place on affected area. Aloe Vera juice is a popular remedy for a number of ailments. Becoming more popular in cooking, particularly with molecular gastronomists for its gelling properties.
