My native plant highlight for this month is DOELLINGERIA umbellate, <\/em>commonly known as the Parasol Whitetop Aster<\/strong>. I picked this native because of its late summer\/fall blooming time. This beautiful native plant symbolizes fall here in Central Virginia.<\/p>\n Parasol Whitetop is an upright grower with narrow oval leaves and clusters of daisy-like flowers on top of the stems\u2014flat-topped white petals widely right the bright yellow centers. This Aster is genuinely a beautiful native plant. It is a herbaceous perennial that is easy to grow.
