Alzheimer’s Awareness 2019

Join Us in the Fight to End Alzheimer’s

Our campaign is dedicated in the loving memory of our founder, Farmer Bill Meadows, who passed away last year.

All donations will be accepted by our cashiers through June 21st, 2019, the longest day of the year.

We at Meadows Farms would like to thank you for your continuing support. Last year, we were able to raise $26,000 from your generous contributions.

Please donate! This year, we’re proud to be working with the Alzheimer’s Association.

Founded in 1980, the Alzheimer’s Association is the leading charity in the field of Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Their mission statement is to, “eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.”

To learn more about the Alzheimer’s Association, visit for more info.

100% of voluntary contributions made in-store between April 6th and June 21st, 2019 will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association, with a minimum contribution of $25,000.

Let’s Not Let Another Memory Slip Away

Join us once again on Saturday, June 15th, for our second Alzheimer’s Day at Meadows Farms. All purchases made with a donation on Saturday, June 15th will receive a 10% discount on all plants! We also will continue to take donations to support the Alzheimer’s Association through June 21st, so please help us to hit our goal of $25,000. We would also like to recommend the book Remembering for Both of Us by Charlotte Wood, which gives great insight in dealing with this disease.

Charlotte B. Wood retired after 32 years of teaching in public schools in Chesterfield County, Virginia. She was inspired to pursue her hobby of writing children’s stories, poems etc. when becoming a grandmother for the first time in 1995. Sadly, her husband, William, also a teacher, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and passed away in 2013 following an almost 12 year battle with this devastating illness.

She is the author of 2 books: What’s Happening to PaPa? (self- published in 2008) and Remembering for Both of Us (2014). Both books were written to help give better understanding and encouragement to families facing the challenges of Alzheimer’s. She hopes to continue to share her experiences as a caregiver and her book Remembering for Both of Us to promote Alzheimer’s Awareness to audiences whenever and wherever possible.

Remembering for Both of Us is the touching story of a child’s first glimpse of Alzheimer’s and a reminder that love can transcend age and illness. Join Tasha in learning more about Alzheimer’s and ways to cope with its effects. Books may be ordered from Amazon, Barnes/Noble, Brandylane Publishers or from the author at

You can donate at any of our 18 retail locations while making a purchase. Help us hit our 2019 goal!
